MSMS Strings Club

The MSMS Strings Club serves to further the education of MSMS students in matters of chamber music and orchestral music. The String Ensemble is open for membership by audition to current students enrolled at MSMS who play violin, viola, cello, double bass or an accompaniment instrument of chamber music. The ensemble meets weekly to learn and rehearse chamber music or to play with the school orchestra. Off campus field trips to regional classical concerts are being planned.

Mr. Funderburk and Ms. Barham are the sponsors and can be reached at wfunderburk@themsms.org for further information.

With the MSMS Mentorship Program, a limited number of student internships with the Starkville-MSU Symphony Orchestra are available each year by audition (for string players only). Auditions for the Starkville Symphony Orchestra Internship Program are held in August.

This year's full orchestra concerts with the Starkville Symphony Orchestra 2016-2017 Season will be held on dates September 16 7:30 PM in MUW Rent Auditorium in Columbus, and Dec. 2, Jan. 20, Feb. 25 and March 25 all at 7:30 PM in MSU Lee Hall Auditorium in Starkville.
