The Director for Advancement is primarily responsible for identifying and securing external funding and maintaining consistent, meaningful forms of engagement with all constituents. The Director works with the MSMS Foundation staff and board to ensure a coordinated approach to securing adequate financial support for the school. The Director provides leadership and guidance for the Office of Advancement and Admissions and oversees Public Relations, Admissions, and Institutional Research. In addition to the aforementioned, the Director performs a wide variety of administrative duties which include, but are not limited to, facilitating summer outreach programs for Mississippi students; disseminating advancement materials to external entities; coordinating media (electronic, print, radio, and television) and public relations; and serving as a liaison to the parent association, alumni association, and various community groups. The Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science is accepting applications for a faculty position in Physics for the 2017-2018 academic year. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach advanced courses in the area of expertise. The ability and expertise to teach courses in multiple areas is desirable. Final teaching assignments will depend upon student needs. Because of the unique nature of MSMS and its mission, all faculty and staff members are expected to provide state and national leadership in their respective areas of expertise. This is a live-in position. RAs serve as floor/area leaders and mentors for approximately 30-35 student residents. The position requires a candidate who will develop and implement programs, counsel with students, and discipline student residents as needed.
